Yummy!!!

On April 17, 2006 Alexis turned 3 months. Her doctor said that she could start eating fruits at 4 months so I figured she needs to start practicing now with some rice cereal. She is doing very well considering she is not used to eating with a spoon, sometimes she gets frustrated and starts crying but it will take some time. Practice makes perfect!!

I See Teddy Bears!

Alexis is very fascinated with her teddy bear mobile!! She is so pleasant now that she sleeps through the night (Thanks Dr. Misch!!!) because she eats some cereal in her milk before she goes to sleep. These pics are her after 7 hours of straight sleep...you may even notice her bedhead!!! There were so many cute pics of her, I couldn't decide which ones to post-so I posted them all!!!

Fun Times At The Doctors!

We went to Alexis' 2 month check up today. She was so pleasant- smiling and talking away during our 45 minute wait-the nurse weighed her and measured her ( 9lbs even and 21 inches long ) and she was happy as a little clam until of course the doctors student assistant came in to examine her. She started screaming. Maybe she was just tired of laying on the "paper bed" naked for almost an hour, or maybe since she was a student she has no idea what she was doing...who knows, she is a nice woman but new at what she does. Alexis was upset but that was nothing compared to when she got two shots in her legs...poor baby screamed her little head off and got beat red in the face. Needless to say she is fast asleep right now. Doctor said everything looked great and we can actually start feeding her cereal at night now...yippy I might be able to final get some sleep at night!!

Bouncing Away!!!

Just a few more pics to demonstrate how big Alexis is getting. She is finally big enough to FIT in her seat as well as bounce it!! There is a vibration mode but she absolutely hates when it is on. She just sits there and bounces away while looking and listening to "a cat, a dog and a bear" play music with bright lights!

Happy 2 Months!!!

Today Alexis is 2 months old...wow where did the time go???? She is getting so big so fast; she will be running around the house before we know it!! Happy 2 month birthday, Baby!!!

Getting So Big!!!

Our little Alexis is getting so big so quick. She is 7 1/2 weeks and she is already 9lbs! That may not seem like alot to some people but in case you don't remember she was born at 4lbs 8oz (what a piggy!!). She is obviously eating good, trust me the child is constantly hungry! We have one of those "hands free carriers" for her and she finally fits in it! To tell you the truth she is starting to fit in everything we have; for example- the swing, bouncy seat, car seat, clothes etc. It's about time too!!

Rock-a-bye Baby

We just got Alexis a swing and she absolutely loves it!!! She will stay awake, look around and reach for the toys on the tray for about 10 minutes and then off to dream land she goes. She looks so precious and peaceful doesn't she? (you would never believe that little angel screams bloody murder about every 2 hours on the hour...lol...)

Grandpa meet Alexis, Alexis meet Grandpa

This weekend my father came in for a visit to meet his brand new grandaughter Alexis. He seems very excited as all grandpas do of course. I think he would like to really move close to us but that would require a new job and huge move from Maryland. Seems like the birth of the baby is bringing us more visitors all the time. Next month, Rachel's parents will be here and in March my sister.

Happy 1 Week Birthday, Alexis!!

Happy 1 week birthday to our beautiful baby girl, Alexis!! 8 days ago we would have never imagined how happy we would have been. She is the best thing that has happened to us! So here's to one week of dirty diapers, feedings every 30 minutes, screaming bloody murder and to many, many more!!!!

First Doctor's Appointment

Today was Alexis' first appointment with her pediatrician. She was quiet the whole time in the waiting room until we brought her to the back where she wouldn't stop crying. But I think getting probed with the thermometer didn't help any either. Anyways, Dr. Misch gave her an A+ and a clean bill of health.

Homecoming!

Look who's going home!

Finally after being in the hospital since Monday, baby Alexis was finally allowed to go home, Thursday night. Having a new baby is probably one of the most exciting things to happen in our lives. And adjusting to a new lifestyle of no sleep (especially for Rachel) and having to care for this new life is very gratifying at many levels. I hope I can only do the best job I can as her father. And give her the proper guidance she needs to be a great person.
